Today I’m taking down the print-on-demand (POD) Etsy listings I put up for the Christmas season. This was my first year using Printify, and also my first Christmas season back on Etsy after many years away.
I didn't make any sales with them, other than the one I generated myself, but that’s okay. It was more about figuring out the process and documenting it (since it's changed since I last sold on Etsy), than ramping a POD shop up to full scale.
It also helped me realize that, while creating POD products is fun and easy, it’s not going to be a main focus of my business moving forward. I will likely revisit it once I have my main business up and running smoothly though, just because I do love designing fun things!
I'm also spending time working on my welcome email sequence, which made me realize that I still haven’t worked out my “elevator pitch” - the 30-second-or-less summary of what I do. So of course I had to embark on a sidequest to get that figured out.
Here's what I landed on: I'm an AuDHD woman who supports other AuDHD women in reaching their life and entrepreneurial goals. I do this via personal support and carefully designed tools and systems that balance their need for structure and routine with their love of novelty.
I also came up with a shorter version because some sites only give you like 150 characters for your bio: I help AuDHD women reach their life and entrepreneurial goals via coaching, tools, and systems designed to balance structure and novelty.
I am, however, considering changing "AuDHD" to "neurospicy," since I am self-diagnosed, and have no intention of seeking a formal diagnosis. It's expensive, time-consuming, and severely lacks benefits this late in life. To say nothing of the current political climate!
That said, I'll always be welcoming to other self-diagnosed folks, as we need (at least) as much support as anyone else, so maybe it's important to keep the AuDHD part. 🤔
What do y'all think?
