So you've made your freebie (lead magnet), you've written your email sequence, and you're ready to start distributing things to whoever is willing to give you their email address...what now?
Well, according to this video (and what I'm seeing in Systeme), there are two options: Sending as an attachment, and sending as a link. But which is better?
I'll be upfront with you. I don't have any idea which is better for your business...I'm not even 100% certain which one is going to be better for MY business! However, I can tell you which way I'm choosing to go, at least at this early stage, and why.
Because my brain can be pretty distractible, I'm going with attachments, at least for now. I figure it's easier to remember to update things in ONE place if I make changes, rather than having to update in two places.
That is, if I make changes to this email sequence, then needing to update them only here in Systeme, rather than here (for the email) and elsewhere (e.g., my Google Drive), is more likely to get executed without me forgetting something.
I'm sure there will eventually be times when I want to deliver things via Google Drive (e.g., things too large for attachments), but for this particular autoresponder, which only delivers relatively small PDF files, I'm using the instructions for using attachments as given in the video linked above.
Of course as soon as I attempted to set up the email sequence, I ran into this error:
This is because I am trying to use my michelle@michelleliggitt email for all my sends, so that any replies go back to my main email for this whole business I'm building. And can easily be responded to from that email.
So it looks like I need to loop back to authenticating the domain, and not just the email. Turns out, this was actually pretty simple, and not as scary as it first seemed. I clicked on the link in Systeme to pull up the domain authentication instructions, and only had to add one extra record - the first CNAME record - to my DNS file on my webhost.
Of course this took a while to propagate across the globe, so it prevented me from using my preferred reply email right away, but I was able to go back and change it on the whole campaign the next day after Systeme marked my domain as verified for that subaccount.
Guess I better go do the same for my other subaccounts now, before I forget...
